Our Story

We were course-mates in the Department of Mass Communication of Moshood Abiola, Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, but we barely talked. Emmanuel used to be the “Class Pastor” who led the class devotion almost throughout his days on campus from the National Diploma Programme till even the Higher National Diploma days.  Tosin, on the other hand, can be described back in the days as gentle and easy going, as she was popularly referred to as “Mummy G.O”.

Emmanuel, who was JCCF President of his 2015/16 set, pursued his ministerial passions, while Oluwatosin proceeded to the University of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria; where she had her Post-Graduate and Masters Degree programme in Mass Communication.

These lovebirds were like strangers, and we are yet to really remember the scenario that made us exchange contacts, but we continued to check each other’s WhatsApp Statuses for years. Oluwatosin wouldn’t want to marry a pastor, even though she had many pastors coming around and many people referred to her as “Mummy G.O”, Emmanuel on the other hand was not even going to consider Oluwatosin as he had already concluded that he was maritally settled. We had both had personal relationship experiences, which we now consider as the process that has built us up to value each other even more. Just like Oluwatosin will always say to Emmanuel; “I believe we both deserve each other”.

After both undergoing our personal dealings with God, we reconnected as old school mates in September, 2023; the first Sunday precisely. It began as a WhatsApp chat, then, the conversations continue to get deeper. Emmanuel, deeply convinced that he had found his suitable helper, made his intention known that same month, and after meeting up with church doctrine requirements, we had our family consent in November, and Wedding date was viewed to be six or nine months after. God gave us the courage to pick the six months option. Emmanuel has not stopped asking; “Is this what people call speed?”.

For us, we believe it is nothing but a Divine Arrangement, and that does not mean it was religiously imposed; it has been the relationships of two lovers, loved by God and both lovers of God.
